Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
—Ephesians 4:32
TODAY’S DARE
In addition to saying nothing negative to your spouse again today, do at least one unexpected gesture as an act of kindness.
I think I did well on the “nothing negative” today. I had a busy day today with work and I was worried about being able to do a good job on the “unexpected gesture”. I ended up catching up the laundry and doing dishes. I would have liked to have done something more “special” but a lot of times it’s the little things that Bethany seem to appreciate the most.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s dare. BoB
I cleaned the kitchen and took Jennifer to Lunch today. It was really nice. I also picked up the kids from the bus stop and let her go and get her hair done during the afternoon.
My wife was sooo busy that day. When she finally came in, she walked in and sat down to watch “dances with the stars” (we always watch it together). She/we immediatly went to bed when it was over. I had done several household chores, made sure the younger kids were in bed, whatever I could think of. I’m not sure she even noticed what I did due to being so tired, etc.
Before sleeping we did do God’s will with pre-accompanied items that are considered by some christians to be possibly unbiblical…all of this when it is obvious my wife was exhausted. The reason I say this is that I don’t think what I did had anything to do with my wife’s response before bed. I actually went to bed feeling awed by how giving and loving my wife is. I think most men perhaps feel they get caught in trying so hard to do things for their wife in order to get responses that I got. I went to bed repentful of how selfish I know I am in trying to “make” my wife respond positively to me by what I do, while she is loving me unconditionally. I got the response any husband would have wanted before bed, but before hand I had a feeling like “I deserve this” or “now she owes me”. I got what I didn’t deserve; I want to be more like that.
