I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the Lord.
—Hosea 2:20
TODAY’S DARE
Love is a choice, not a feeling. It is an initiated action, not a knee-jerk reaction. Choose today to be committed to love even if your spouse has lost most of their interest in receiving it. Say to them today in words similar to these, “I love you. Period. I choose to love you even if you don’t love me in return.”
I tried this, but then Jennifer was all like, what do you mean. “even if you don’t love me in return.” “Haven’t I demonstrated my love to you over and over.” Then came the tears, a big fight . . . she just left to stay with her parents till, who knows when.
Okay, that didn’t happen, but it is beginning to feel like these dares are for couples in a different place in their marriage then we are right now . . .
At church today there was a time to reflect and Thank God – the overwhelming amount of my time was thanking God for my wife.
Is anyone else finding the Love Dares not hitting home for them?
I agree. I have been picking and choosing the dares that apply or seem beneficial. I haven’t been impressed though with the dares in general. BoB
PS – Glad your first paragraph was only a joke!
