Love Dare – Day 30: Love brings unity

Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.

—John 17:11

TODAY’S DARE

Isolate one area of division in your marriage, and look on today as a fresh opportunity to pray about it.  Ask the Lord to reveal anything in your own heart that is threatening oneness with your spouse.  Pray that He would do the same for them.  And if appropriate, discuss this matter openly, seeking God for unity.

  1. Has anyone noticed that the majority of the Love Dares assume you are having a bad marriage? I guess that makes sense since that is probably the audience the book was targeting but I was hoping for something a little more positive. For example, today’s post doesn’t just assume there is one division in your marriage…it implies that there are many by the first two words “isolate one”. How many areas of division do they think the typical marriage has?

I also love the logic of today’s post…and several of the others. Let me reword today’s post “Think of something that is terribly dividing you and your spouse and then bring it up in conversation” :-)

    Blessings, BoB
